Ballon d'Or Feminin 2022 nominees announced

France Football has revealed the nominees for the 2022 Ballon d'Or Feminin.

France Football released the shortlist of finalists for each of its major 2022 awards including the Ballon d'Or Feminin, the top individual prize in women's football.

This trophy was first awarded by France Football in 2018. Ada Hegerberg won the award in 2018, Megan Rapinoe received it in 2019, and Alexia Putellas is the last recipient in 2021. There was no Ballon d'Or ceremony in 2020 due to COVID-19.

For the first time, the Ballon d'Or is being awarded based on a full season rather than a calendar year. A group of 50 international journalists settled on the 20 nominees for the women's award. The 2022 ceremony when the winner will be revealed on 17 October 2022.
