Barcelona set new attendance record for Women's game

Barcelona broke their world record attendance for a women's football match on Friday night.

match at Camp Nou on Friday night. It also trumps the figures set by Barcelona's men's team this season.

Barcelona beat Wolfsburg 5-1 in the first leg of the Women’s Champions League semi-final.

who won last year's Ballon D'or scored for Barcelona in each half. Aitana Bonmati, Caroline Graham Hansen, and Jenni Hermoso also each scored a goal for Barcelona in the match.

The second leg is in Germany on 30 April. Lyon hosts Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the other semi-final. The final will be held on Saturday, May 21 at Juventus Stadium in Turin.

The Previous record was 91,553 at the Champions League quarter-final between Barcelona and Real Madrid in March. Previously, the record for a women’s game was 90,185 for the 1999 Women’s World Cup final in the USA.

The attendance record for a women’s domestic tie came in 2019 when 60,739 watched Atletico Madrid’s game against Barcelona at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Barcelona women's team won the treble last season. They have already won the Spanish league this season and are in the Copa de la Reina semi finals.
