Iran reaches the Qatar 2022

The Iranians defeated Iraq to secure early qualification for themselves.

Iran’s

clash against

Iraq

in the AFC Asian Qualifiers - Road to Qatar ended in a 1-0 victory for Iran securing their place in the Qatar World Cup as it was their third consecutive win in Group A of the competition and helped them become the first AFC ticket to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 proving their dominance in the group.

Team Melli’s home victory against Iraq sent them back at the top of their group above

South Korea

, who had reached first place with a win against Lebanon earlier in the day. With this victory, the next three matches in the qualifying games will not be important for them.

The match was full of opportunities for both sides, especially Iran but Iraq had a better start in the game, the home side took control of the game as time went on, and if it wasn’t for Iraq’s goalkeeper

Fahad Talib

the result could be much worst for the visitors.

But Iraq kept defending and managed to keep the home side away from their goal in the first half, but Iran started the next half with so much determination that they found the net in the 48th minute of the game by

Mehdi Taremi’s

shot and it was enough for them to secure the victory and their place in Qatar 2022 World Cup.
