Giroud: I expect to score at least 15 goals this season

The French striker is confident to reach his best form at San Siro after his summer move from Chelsea.

Olivier Giroud left Chelsea after spending three years at the club. The French striker decided to experience playing in a different league, putting himself in a tough competition with

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

at AC Milan.

The former Arsenal player was used as Zlatan’s backup for the first few games, but he has been given a starting spot since the Swedish star’s injury.

“Zlatan is a legend and there will be a real competition between us,”

Giroud told

.

“I can score at least 15 goals, that’s what I hope. If I play every game, that’s what I expect.”

Asked about Milan’s chances of winning the Scudetto this season, Giroud responded:

“I hope so, we have the quality and young players. It’s a clear target we have,

“I liked the Premier League, but at some point, I had to make a decision. I told Tuchel that the last three months had been too difficult.

“It was an obvious choice to leave Chelsea, I moved on with great emotion for all the moments we lived. Some were good, some others not as much, but we won three important titles.”

Having won five of their first six games of the season, Milan are leading the Serie A table with 16 points. The Rossoneri will face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.
