Man City considering a move for Luiz

Manchester City may trigger Douglas Luiz’s buy-back clause in his contract, with the manager still praising the midfielder’s abilities.

Douglas Luiz

made a move to

Aston Villa

two years ago from

Manchester City

when he couldn’t make an appearance because of not getting a work permit.

As per reports from

90 Min

, Pep Guardiola’s side may activate his £25 million buy-back clause in the contract.

Luiz has played in 76 matches during the two seasons at Villa Park, having a crucial role in Sean Smith’s squad and how they finished the season in 11th place.

The 23-year-old first represented his country in November 2019 and will be called up to be part of the squad for their Copa America in the summer.

Atletico Madrid

are also keeping tabs on Luiz, but City’s position will be advantageous in the transfer.

Villa are on the lookout for a replacement as they think Luiz will depart in the summer, but they also have the option of paying for the buy-back clause and have him themselves.
