Thauvin joins the Liga MX side Tigers

Thauvin completes his transfer to Tigers despite the European links.

Florian Thauvin

has completed a transfer to Liga MX to play for

Tigers

, the club announces, and the 28-year-old has made this decision despite having offers from some Premier League clubs and AC Milan.

The 28-year-old winger has agreed on a five-year deal with the Mexican side and will be playing alongside his former teammate Andre-Pierre Gignac, who also used to play for

Marseille

and transferred to Mexico in 2015.

Signing Thauvin can be a big move for the Mexican club, considering the player’s career, and the club’s reaction to the transfer, and also the links that have been made with the big European sides, including AC Milan and a few Premier League clubs.

The club has made a video to announce the transfer using some of the club’s stars from both men and women teams, with Thauvin showing up at the end of the video, and here is what he has said.

"The Tigres profile means believing that it's always possible,"

Thauvin says

. "Good luck to my team-mates tomorrow."

Thauvin joined Marseille in 2013 and has been a key player in their squad ever since, making ten international appearances for France meanwhile. He moved to Premier League and spent one year and a half at Newcastle, but it wasn’t how he expected the experience, so he came back to Marseille, and now he has decided to take on a new challenge in North America instead of returning to Premier League.
