N’golo Kante close to a new Chelsea contract and an injury return

Missing most of the current Premier League season, N’golo Kante is reportedly close to returning to Chelsea’s training as well as signing a new contract with the club.

N'golo Kante hasn't played for Chelsea since the second game of the Premier League season, where he took a severe injury that ruled him out of action for four months, including missing the Qatar World Cup. Meanwhile, Kante’s contract with Chelsea will expire at end of the season, attracting the attention of clubs like Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

However, according to

The Telegraph

, Chelsea is confident that they will reach an agreement with the French midfielder soon with the negotiations already taking place. In addition to contract updates, Graham Potter also revealed that the midfielder is close to making an injury return after sustaining a hamstring injury in a Premier League game against Tottenham in August.

After joining Chelsea in 2016, Kante has played an important role in the team's success and has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world. The French star played 34 games for this team in the first three seasons of his presence, but in the next three, he could not play for more than 24 games, and recently he suffered a serious injury and will be away from the field for some time.
