Barcelona will try to sign Neves in January

The Portuguese star hopes to be able to leave Wolves and move to Camp Nou.

Reports indicate that Barcelona has a good opportunity to attract Ruben Neves.

The Portuguese star is rumored to be close to leaving Wolverhampton at the end of the 2022-23 season, with the Blaugrana eyeing him as a suitable replacement for Sergio Busquets at Camp Nou. The Barcelona captain's contract expires in the summer of 2023, and rumors suggest that he may move to MLS.

While Xavi was eyeing Martin Zoubimendi as a midfield replacement for Busquets, his contract with Real Sociedad was extended so that option was not available at all. Barca are therefore said to be looking to sign a defensive midfielder in January, although Busquets still plays an important role in the team.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Jorge Mendes is going to play the role of mediator between Barcelona and Wolverhampton and prepare the terms of the transfer. Wolverhampton are said to want €40 million for the sale of Ruben Nous, who has a contract with the club until 2024.
