Dortmund sign Red Bull Salzburg's Karim Adeyemi for €38m plus add-ons

Borussia Dortmund appear to be ready for life after Erling Haaland formally agreed to an agreement to supplant him.

This season, the 21-year-old has 61 goals in 66

Bundesliga

appearances for Dortmund.

He's also shown his worth in the

Champions League

, scoring his first 20 goals in a record-breaking 14 games.

Dortmund recruited Haaland from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020, and their next striker will come from the same club, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Karim Adeyemi is on his way to Signal Iduna Park for €38 million with add-ons until 2027, according to Dortmund's

official website

. After the sale of Haaland, Dortmund would still have a significant sum of money.

According to Romano, Dortmund will try to recruit another striker in addition to Adeyemi.

During his year with Salzburg, Haaland scored 25 goals in only 23 games.

Although Adeyemi's record there isn't nearly as remarkable, he has 24 goals in all competitions this season and was linked with Manchester United earlier.

The 20-year-old expressed his enthusiasm for joining the

BVB

: "As a little boy, I was fascinated by black and yellow speed football. That's why it quickly became clear to me that I would like to switch to BVB when I learned about Dortmund's interest. I deliberately signed in the long term, because I am convinced that we will be an exciting team that, with the support of the fantastic Dortmund fans, will be able to play titles in the medium term and win them."
