The move of Erling Haaland to Manchester City has been completed. The Manchester Blues will pay a release clause that is far lower than Borussia Dortmund's first offer.
The Norwegian forward will follow in his father's footsteps by becoming one of the
Premier League's highest-paid players.
Rafaela Pimenta, the close friend of late football agent Mino Raiola, was instrumental in putting the verbally agreed contract in writing. The
Cityzenshave announced the signing today on their
official website:
"Manchester City can confirm we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the Club on 1st July 2022. The transfer remains subject to the Club finalising terms with the player."
According to
The Times, the Sky Blues will announce Erling Haaland's move within the next 24 hours. Manchester City paid little over £51 million for the striker's release clause, which will rise to £85.6 million if middleman commissions are factored in.
The agreement agreed by the Norwegian striker would see him earn almost £400,000 per week, which is comparable to Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne's earnings.
