Juventus lost their DNA with Ronaldo - Buffon

The Portuguese star left Juventus in the summer for Old Trafford, which Buffon welcomes.

Former

Juventus

captain Gianluigi Buffon has claimed that the presence of

Cristiano Ronaldo

in the team was to their detriment.

Cristiano Ronaldo finally left Santiago Bernabeu in 2018 and joined Juventus after 9 amazing seasons at

Real Madrid

and winning all possible team and individual titles with the team. However, the Portuguese superstar's stay at Juventus did not go as well as expected, and he finally left the team last summer and returned to Manchester United.

Buffon, who joined Parma in the summer and had a close relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus, now claimed that the Portuguese star had caused his team to be unequal.

"Juventus had the chance to win the Champions League the first year he arrived, which was the year I was at Paris Saint-Germain, and I couldn’t figure out what happened,"

he said.

“When I returned, I worked with Ronaldo for two years and we did well together, but I think Juventus lost that DNA of being a team.

“We reached the Champions League final in 2017 because we were a side full of experience, but above all we were a single unit and there was this competition for places within the group that was very strong. We lost that with Ronaldo.”

Ronaldo won two Serie A titles during his time at Juventus, but the team failed to win their tenth consecutive title last season.
