Coman open-minded about his future amid uncertainty over new deal

Having joined Bayern Munich on a €21 million deal in 2015,

has spent the last seven years at Allianz Arena. The French winger has established himself as an important player for the Bavarians in recent seasons, but the club are struggling to reach an agreement with the 25-year-old over a new deal.

When asked whether he wants to stay at Bayern or experience a new challenge, Coman told

:

"I'm lucky to be young, so I can do both. I can stay here for several years and see how things are elsewhere. So it's something in between."

Coman has two years left on his current deal at Allianz Arena, with the Frenchman rejecting Bayern’s initial offers earlier this year. The German club must be worried about signing new deals with a number of their players ahead of the next transfer window.

was asked about the contract negotiations with Leon Goretzka.

"We are in very, very good talks with both players, and I'm very optimistic,"

he said.

"We have a great package to offer; you always have the chance to win big titles with us, and to help shape an era. Both are very, very important players, absolute top players."

Following the contract

of Joshua Kimmich, Bayern are keen to sign a new deal with Coman. The player was linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea earlier this summer, but Bayern’s price tag for the Frenchman has reportedly scared the suitors off.

Asked about his relationship with Bayern’s new coach Julian Nagelsmann, Coman responded:

"It's right that this new touch that he brings to us makes us want to work with this type of coach and see how much we can improve personally and collectively,"

Coman said.

"The start was great. He's really good, he has a lot of ideas and is very motivated. I think he will bring a lot to the team and I am very excited to work with him.

"It's great because we're a team that is used to winning and then having this DNA of someone who is even more keen to win brings everyone up.”

After the international break, Bayern will continue their Bundesliga campaign with a match against RB Leipzig on September 11.
