Liverpool line up £15m bid for Trabzonspor Ugurcan Cakir

Liverpool have been scouting Trabzonspor’s goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir as Alisson Becker’s back-up and are reportedly preparing a £15million bid for him.

The latest report from Turkish outlet

Sabah

suggests that

Cakir

’s performance in a 3-0 win over a

Norway

side containing

Erling Haaland

and

Martin Odegaard

strengthened the transfer interest in him.

The Reds sent scouts to watch Cakir line up against Erling Haaland’s Norway in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday and they left impressed with the goalkeeper's performance.

However, the Reds will face competition for the Turkish goalkeeper’s signature from

Sevilla

and

RB Leipzig

.

Cakir made his debut for Turkey in May 2019 and their game against

Latvia

at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium will be his seventh appearance for his national team. The 24-year-old has kept 10 clean sheets for his club this season, with his clean sheet against Norway his second of his international career.

Liverpool

are interested in signing Cakir as a replacement for

Adrian

, who has failed to impress when called upon in Alisson’s absence.
