Shrewsbury coach determined to trust his new midfielder Jan Zamburek

On-loan forward Jan Zamburek is set to hold his beginning spot as Shrewsbury Town hope to broaden their unbeaten spell under Steve Cotterill when they play against Blackpool

The 19-year-old

Zamburek

was an unexpected advancement to the starting XI for the Boxing Day stalemate at Wigan yet intrigued the coach and played a part in Shaun Whalley's 66th-minute leveler.

Daniel Udoh and Dave Edwards both exited the starting XI for the outing to Lancashire and will push to reverse that decision.

Cotterill has revealed there are no new injuries as his team hopes to make it eight matches undefeated – seven since he supplanted past officeholder Sam Ricketts.

Blackpool skipper Chris Maxwell is still out of action alongside midfielder Matty Virtue, following their positive tests for Covid-19.

Maxwell's nonattendance provoked the Tangerines to sign Reading goalie Sam Walker on a seven-day crisis loan bargain on Christmas Eve, and he is set to make his first appearance for them.

Blackpool

go into the game having had a peculiarly peaceful merry period, with both past matches against Sunderland and Rochdale having been delayed.

What's more, manager Neil Critchley will be quick to try not to roll out too many modifications as his side try to broaden their unbeaten spell in the

League One

to six fixtures.
