How will the Netherlands line up at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022?

The Netherlands has always been one of the best teams in the World Cup, and this time the Oranje is returning with new players and a new lineup; welcome to How will Netherland line up at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022?

Qatar will host the World Cup for the first time ever in the Arab World. After being eliminated from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Netherlands will return in 2022.

Despite being one of the best teams in World Cup history and having a fantastic style of game, the Netherlands has never experienced victory.

After guiding the Oranje to third place in 2014 and a semi-final loss to Argentina, Louis van Gaal is back in charge of the team. They advanced to the finals of the 2010 competition but fell to Spain 0-1 at the end of extra time.

The Netherlands won't be considered one of the favorites to win the World Cup after the Czech Republic eliminated them from the Euro 2020 in the Round of 16.

How will the Netherlands line up at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022?

has it is really hard to guess who will set foot onto the field as the starting eleven. However, here's our guess of the Netherlands Lineup in the 2022 Qatar World Cup:

  • LM

    : Steven Berghuis

  • ST

    : Memphis Depay

  • ST

    : Steven Bergwijn

LB

:

Daley Blind

Netherlands group stage games are scheduled as below:

  • Mon, Nov. 21, 11 a.m

.: Senegal vs. Netherlands, Al Thumama Stadium

  • Fri, Nov. 25, 11 a.m.

: Netherlands vs. Ecuador, Khalifa Int'l Stadium

  • Tues, Nov. 29, 10 a.m.

: Netherlands vs. Qatar, Al Bayt Stadium

Now, let’s get to the list.

GK: Jasper Cillessen

Louis van Gaal has informed Jasper Cillessen that he will be the starting goalkeeper at the World Cup.

Cillessen was supposed to be the starting goalkeeper for the Netherlands when Justin Bijlow was cut from the team due to poor play at Feyenoord, but Ajax's Remko Pasveer played in the team's most recent two games against Poland and Belgium.

Cillessen claimed to be unconcerned about this following the conclusion of the international break, and according to former boss De Mos, the 33-year-old has been informed by Van Gaal and goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek that he will start in Qatar.

RB: Denzel Dumfries

As a 17-year-old playing twice for Aruba in 2014, Dumfries scored a fantastic long-range goal against Guam.

The incredibly confident player quickly informed the ABC Island nation, however, that he would not be playing for them in a match because he was certain he would wear orange in a World Cup someday.

Eight years later, Dumfries can still claim to have been a star of the UEFA EURO, having performed admirably for PSV and his current club Inter Milan, as well as for Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Real Madrid, and having earned 35 caps for the Netherlands.

As one of the best at what he does, he would most surely start the game.

CB: Jurrien Timber

One of the top young defenders on the continent, the Dutch international is an important member of Ajax Amsterdam.

Erik ten Hag is upset and "shocked," according to the Mirror, that Jurrien Timber might decide against joining Manchester United this summer.

It is a challenging start for ten Hag at Man United because Timber is now expected to stay at Ajax.

The young man's choice, which was motivated by his desire to reach the Netherlands' World Cup roster this year, has left the Dutchman speechless, and they will now need to explore elsewhere for defensive reinforcements.

SW: Van Dijk

The team's captain,

Van Dijk

, will be seeking to make an impact in his first major competition after missing the Euro 2020 due to injury.

Although the Dutchman hasn't been at his best this year, he must be if the Oranje are to have a spectacular World Cup run.

CB: Nathan Ake

Aké

has received accolades for his versatility, decent passing range, good game reading, and ability to play at full-back, center-back, and defensive midfield.

This has been ascribed to his professional approach, strong work ethic, and natural technique. These factors may make him a very powerful player in the World Cup.

LB: Daley Blind

Blind, who has played for his country on a full-time basis since 2013, has amassed over 90 caps and was a part of the Dutch team that placed third in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and will also compete at UEFA Euro 2020.

His experience makes him a crucial part of the World Cup.

RM: Frenkie De Jong

Now, De Jong will perform on the largest stage of all.

A ball retention and pass-master, the Gorinchem native has been compared to Franz Beckenbauer and his current Barcelona coach. He would be an ideal fit for either the Spanish tika-taka of South Africa 2010 or the Dutch "Total Football" of the 1970s.

CM: Davy Klaassen

This player has qualities that would definitely turn the tide in the Netherlands' favor.

Klaassen is known as "Mister 1-0" because he frequently scores the opening goal of a game. Former Everton manager Ronald Koeman was reported as saying Klaassen was a leader on the field in regard to the recruitment of the former Ajax captain.

Koeman went on to say that Klaassen played with a strong work ethic, a penchant for pressure, and a willingness to set goals.

LM: Steven Berghuis

Berghuis received another call-up to the senior Netherlands team in May 2016. Because he had only 222 minutes of playing time at Watford during the 2015–16 season, his call-up was criticized.

On May 27, he made his Oranje debut as a late replacement in a 1-1 tie with the Republic of Ireland.

Berghuis scored his first goal for the country on March 27, 2021, as the Netherlands defeated Latvia 2-0 in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

He had a good start for the tournament and he hopes to continue this successful run by getting included in the starting eleven of the team for World Cup.

ST: Memphis Depay

Mo Salah has scored six goals in his previous 20 international appearances, followed by

Karim Benzema

and Kylian Mbappe with 12 each, Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi with 15 each, Harry Kane with 16, and Erling Haaland with 20. Depay scored 21 goals.

He is just as essential to the Oranje as oranges are to the Oranjebitter.

Bastian Schweinsteiger praised

Depay

as an "unbelievable talent," Georginio Wijnaldum told FIFA that "the team is doing so well because of Memphis," and current Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal called Depay "one of the most difficult players to stop in the world."

Depay's combination of unpredictable skills, defense-fracturing through-balls, and lethal finishes also led Bastian Schweinsteiger to praise him as an "unbelievable talent." Even though he is a striker now, he accomplishes much more than just scoring goals.

ST: Steven Bergwijn

When Ronald Koeman included Bergwijn in the Netherlands squad in October 2018, Bergwijn received his first official call to the international team.

On October 13, 2018, he earned his starting debut against Germany in a 3-0 UEFA Nations League A triumph. By participating in the World Cup, he hopes to gain more experience playing in international competitions.
