Martininho is his nickname. stopper's Damian Emiliano Martinez Romero was born in the city of Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, to his mother Susana and father Alberto. Emiliano is an actual Argentine citizen. Martinez's family origins were discovered through study, and it appears that he is primarily of white ethnicity. Martininho, as he is known, grew up in his hometown of Mar del Plata with his brother Alejandro. When he talks about how he started playing football at a young age, he always smiles. The goalie is from a low-income household. As a result, his family suffered a great deal in terms of financial hardship. He's seen his father cry late at night because he can't pay his debts.

That was not a pleasant sight for the young goalkeeper to see, and the memories of that night are still fresh in his mind. Needless to say, the child carried his family's financial ambitions when he began a targeted career development at CA Independiente. It was at the club that he dared to dream of a future in football, along with all the trappings that entail.

When the Argentinian began playing for CA Independiente, his family had high expectations for the youngster's ability to support himself through football. It's finished today, and it's enough to make the entire family happy.

He spent years on loan at a number of different clubs in England.

Sheffield Wednesday

, Rotherham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Getafe, and Reading are among the clubs. Martininho was never promoted to the main team and had to make do with being a backup goalkeeper.

Martinez didn't get a proper chance until first-choice goalkeeper

Bernd Leno

suffered a major injury in June 2020. Martinez, never one to pass on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, continued to shine for the rest of the season. He produced important saves that helped Arsenal win their 14th FA Cup title at the height of his stellar run.

Reception

The 29-year-old received scant opportunities to shine with Arsenal and ultimately put his foot down after going out on yet another loan spell

Argentina and Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez admits he lost his love for football during his long years of inactivity at Arsenal, but finally turned the corner when he refused to let the club send him out on loan anymore.

Martinez, 29, became a hero for both club and country over the course of 2020-21, following up his fine debut season with Villa in the Premier League with a memorable Copa America campaign as he helped the Albiceleste take the title.

But the goalkeeper also knows what it is like to suffer for his art, having spent the best part of a decade in north London while barely featuring for the first team.

Emiliano Martinez outside football

Martinez stated that he is a huge video game aficionado. He plays video games alongside players of the Argentina national team. “I played a couple of Call of Duty games to unwind before the final against Brazil. Some guys, such as Lisandro, play FIFA and participate in competitions or play ping pong.

"I've always appreciated stuff related to (video) games since I was a kid." When I lived in Mar del Plata, I used to spend my days playing with the ball and my nights playing Playstation, Sega, or Nintendo. Today, I play Mario Kart with my son during the day, and I play Call of Duty with my Argentine friends at night. We're four of us, and we always play as a team every night.
