Georgio Chiellini demands a pay-rise from Juventus

As his contract with Juventus ended this summer, the Italy captain is yet to discuss a new deal with the Bianconeri. Playing an important role in Italy’s Euro-winning squad, the 36-year-old is not considering retirement and might be open to a new challenge in the coming weeks.

According to

La Gazzetta dello Sport

, the Azzurri captain is expected to open negotiations with the

Bianconeri

when he returns from vacation, which he is spending with teammate Leonardo Bonucci and their families.

Although the 36-year-old defender was considering retirement, with his performances crucial to the triumph, he’s now looking ahead to the World Cup in November and December 2022.

In addition,

Georgio Chiellini

is reportedly demanding a pay rise to his previous deal with

Juve

, his previous salary was worth €3.5m per season.

However, the outlet reports he could ask for a raise to €5m per year.

Juventus

are likely to reject Chiellini's demands, as they are trying to lower the overall wage bill.

However, with

Georgio Chiellini

turning 37 before the start of the new season, both Juventus and Real Madrid are likely to offer the iconic defender a one-year deal.

Sergio Ramos signed for Paris Saint-Germain as part of the Parisians' efforts to create a squad that would be able to achieve European glory for the French side. Mauricio Pochettino’s team were knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester City last season, but Ramos says the Parisians don’t have to wait for too long to win their first-ever Champions League title.
