Vlahovic and Zakaria enjoy goalscoring debuts for Juventus

The former made a move from

in a big-money deal last month, while the latter departed Borussia Monchengladbach to join the Serie A side.

Vlahovic scored the opener before Zakaria extended their lead with a goal that sealed a victory for Juve.

Their win has put them fourth in the

table ahead of Atalanta, who have a game in hand.

Although Juventus had less possession than their rivals notwithstanding being at home, Verona hardly ever threatened the Juve goal and did not mount a comeback.

Juve have now been on a run of 10 unbeaten games in the Italy top flight, winning seven and drawing three of those matches.

Despite starting the season on the wrong foot, Juventus have pulled themselves together and are running on a rich vein of form now. Vlahovic has met the target 18 times in the league this season, which is just fewer than Robert Lewandowski’s 24 in the top five leagues of Europe.

The Bianconeri will face Sassuolo on Thursday in the quarter-final of the Coppa Italia, whereas Verona will take on Udinese on Sunday.
