Barcelona offers Neto to Arsenal

The Catalans are keen to find a transfer destination for the Brazilian goalkeeper ahead of the next season.

Barcelona are continuing their efforts to reduce their wage bill ahead of the next season. The Spanish giants, who saw

Lionel Messi leave the club

as a result of their unstable financial situation, are keen to offload a number of their players before the end of the current transfer window.

According to

Daily Express

, Barcelona have offered

Neto

to Arsenal. The Spanish club have asked the Premier League heavyweights about their potential interest in making a bid for the experienced keeper.

Barcelona must lighten their bloated wage bill to make room for the contracts of their new signings. In addition to the departure of Messi, the Blaugrana have already offloaded Junior Firpo, Jean-Clair Todibo, Francisco Trincao, Carles Alena, and Matheus Fernandes this summer.

Arsenal are expected to push for a free transfer with a reduced annual wage for Neto. The 32-year-old earns an annual salary of €4.5m at Camp Nou, which is unlikely to continue at the north London side.
