PSG Facing Financial Dispute with Kylian Mbappe as Contract Winds Down

French club yet to pay €100m owed to star player, negotiations ongoing as he nears exit to Real Madrid

PSG has encountered a financial dispute with Kylian Mbappe, as reported by French outlet L'Equipe. The club has failed to pay the player his wages for April, May, and reportedly will not pay for June either, with the total amount owed reaching around €100m (£84m).

Mbappe's contract with PSG is set to expire on June 30, adding urgency to resolve the issue. The relationship between Mbappe and PSG has been tumultuous since he declined to renew his contract at the start of the 2023/24 season.

Although initially frozen out of the first team, Mbappe later returned but is now poised to depart on a free transfer to Real Madrid, a move that has been widely anticipated. PSG, when approached by L'Equipe, stated that negotiations with Mbappe are ongoing to address the outstanding payments.

Currently, Mbappe is on international duty with

France

at Euro 2024, having contributed an assist in their opening game against Austria but missing the subsequent match against the Netherlands due to a broken nose.
