"I hoped Genoa would score in the final minutes" says Pavard

In the eighth week of Serie A, AC Milan defeated Genoa.

Benjamin Pavard, who joined

Inter

from Bayern Munich in the summer, said he hoped Genoa would score a goal against Milan in the final minutes.

In the final minutes of the game, Milan's goalkeeper Mike Maignan was sent off and Olivier Giroud replaced him in the goal.

“To be fair, I hoped Genoa would score in the final minutes,”

he told Gazzetta.

“He made a good save. Who knows, he could play in goal for the national team too.”

Milan have earned 21 points from their eight games in Serie A and are at the top of the table, while Inter have earned 19 points and are in second place.
