Champions League quarter final draw: Man City vs Bayern, Real Madrid vs Chelsea

The draw for the 2022/23 Champions League quarter-finals and semi-finals took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, on Friday 17 March 2023.

Defending champions

Real Madrid

will play Chelsea in the

Champions League

quarter-finals after the draw took place. Both teams faced each other last year at the same stage, and Real Madrid managed to qualify for the next round.

Manchester City will also face

Bayern Munich

in the quarter-finals, Serie A leaders Napoli takes on Milan, and Inter has been drawn against Benfica.

The draw for the Champions League semi-final stage also took place on Friday. Winners of Real Madrid/Chelsea will face winners of Manchester City/Bayern.  

The first legs of the quarter-finals will be spread out across 11 and 12 April, with the second legs on 18 and 19 April. The Semi-final round will be held on 9/10 & 16/17 May 2023.

The final will be played on 10 June 2023 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

  • Real Madrid - Chelsea

  • Benfica - Inter

  • Manchester City - Bayern Munich

  • AC Milan - Napoli

Here are the Semi-finals matches:

  • Milan/Napoli v Inter/Benfica

  • Madrid/Chelsea v Man. City/Bayern

The away goals rule has been removed, so the ties level after 180 minutes will go to extra time. If the teams still cannot be separated after the additional 30 minutes, then it goes to a penalty shootout.
