Arteta eases Bukayo Saka injury fears ahead of North London Derby

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says Bukayo Saka has not suffered an injury ahead of the North London derby.

Saka

was forced off in

Arsenal's

3-0 win in the FA Cup against Oxford at the Kassam Stadium on Monday.

After the game, Arteta was asked about Saka’s situation and told to ITV:

"He's fine, he's fine."

Fabio Vieira

who joined Arsenal from Porto last summer managed to provide two assists against Oxford.

Arteta told ITV Sport:

"He has the quality. He is a really creative player, and he can decide games in the final third. He made a difference."

Eddie Nketiah scored twice against Oxford. He has now scored four goals in four games since Gabriel Jesus' injury. The English striker has scored seven goals this season for the Gunners.

Arteta said:

"It is what we want from every player. I am delighted. You have to be scoring goals, and he is doing it."

He added:

"We have only one [striker]. And to cope for that many months until Gabby's back is not easy. We have to make the most out of the players we've got.”

Arsenal's manager also said he is still keen to make additions to his squad in the January transfer window.

"We need to go a step further, we need players that already know what winning feels like and are able to transmit that,"

Arteta said.

"The likes of Gabi Jesus and Zinchenko we brought that to the football club, they are still very young, they don’t have that much experience but they are hungry and have the quality to deliver us to the next level."

Arsenal will face Manchester City at Etihad Stadium in the fourth round of the FA cup.
