Ancelotti bothered by Karim Benzema's World Cup rest suggestions

Having last appeared against Elche in October, there were suggestions that the 34-year-old is rested to be fit for the World Cup. However, the Italian coach denies suggestions that the Ballon d’Or winner is resting ahead of his perhaps last World Cup.

The

Real Madrid

striker has been sidelined for weeks as it was confirmed he will miss his side's last La Liga clash before World Cup against Cadiz.  Despite missing Real Madrid's domestic clashes since October 19,

Karim Benzema

is supposed to be available for France in the

Qatar World Cup

.

Confirming Benzema will be absent in Real Madrid's Thursday trip to Cadiz, their final game before Qatar World Cup, Ancelotti denied rumors that he's resting the French striker.

Carlo Ancelotti

told his press conference: "

It has bothered me that he has not been able to help us with his quality - he has tried but he has not been able to come back from this small thing, so he is not available.

"I don't have to say anything to anyone. The first disappointed person is Karim, who arrives at the World Cup without the necessary minutes to be in good condition.

"To think that he has been rested, I do not believe it, it is silly. He has not stopped; he has trained alone, but the feelings he had were not good. It means he arrives at the World Cup with few minutes in his legs."

A 3-2 defeat to

Rayo Vallecano

on Monday was Real Madrid's first defeat of the season. The Italian added:

"If you lower intensity against teams that do not play in Europe, such as Rayo, they can be at a higher level than the rest.

"It's less noticeable when you're playing against teams that do play in Europe."
