Haaland saves City crucial points at the death and sends them top

Manchester City showed resilience as they went 1 man down following a Joao Cancelo red card but yet still managed to win 2-1 against Fulham in the stoppage time.

Guardiola’s pupils were seriously tested today, as they turned what should have been an easy win at home, a struggle after they went one man down early on against Fulham.

Cancelo was saved a Guardiola’s wrath as Haaland once again came to City’s rescue, this time with a last-gasp penalty. The Citizens were put ahead early on with a beautiful strike from Alvarez which was assisted by Gundogan but shorty after, Cancelo was sent off for giving Fulham a penalty as he stopped Harry Wilson from having a clear one on one chance.

Andreas Pereira converted the penalty for Fulham and the rest of the match was an intense battle between two teams to win 3 points, although City understandingly controlled the match and was the better team even with 10 men and had 2 of their goals disallowed for offside.

But after Haaland and Foden came on in the second half

City

’s attack was invigorated once more and they fought until De Bruyne was brought down in the box at the 92nd minute. Haaland converted the penalty, even though Leno was very close to saving it, saving City 2 points and sending them above Arsenal to the first place.

With this result Manchester City clinch their 13th consecutive victory over

Fulham

in the Premier League and will await Arsenal’s match against Chelsea tomorrow to see if they will remain top of the league or not. The

Gunners

have to win their game against rivals to go back on top since their goal difference is lower than City and a draw would only keep them level at points with the Citizens.
