Graham Potter: "We're expecting a really tough game against AC Milan"

Tomorrow, Chelsea will face Milan in a Champions League match, and Graham Potter is well aware of the difficulty of the upcoming contest.

Last week, the Blues beat the Rossoneri 3-0 in West London.

Stefano Pioli

and his team had to pick up the pieces before a big league game against

Juventus

.

Milan

didn't let anyone down and did well as they bounced back against the Bianconeri, getting them ready for their next game against Chelsea.

In a press conference, Potter first confirmed that Hakim Ziyech and

N'Golo Kante

from Chelsea would not be there. “Hakim is ill. N’Golo were just waiting for his reaction from his training. It is certainly not ideal so we will have to wait and see the extent of it and go from there.

“It’s not ideal and it is disappointing for him and for us. We’ll have to see the extent of it and go from there.” He talked about how hard it was to get ready for the game against Milan with so little time on the training pitch.

"There hasn’t been much time on the training pitch but you can learn in other ways. We’ve had to use meetings, videos, speak, explain and talk to try to understand where the players are at and how we can help them. I’ve found them really receptive and a it’s a pleasure to work with them.”

The English coach talked about how special it would be to win in San Siro.

“That’s our challenge and it’s what we have to try to do. It’s an incredible place here and a very different game. Milan will try to use the home advantage like we did. Two good teams, too evenly matched teams. I’m looking forward to it.”

 Potter talked about the defender

Thiago Silva

and how he was feeling.

“He was ok when we played Milan but got a little worse as the week went on. With two days to recovery, it didn’t make sense to play him again. He is a leader, a top professional and a top person. Again, he has been a joy to work with,”

He said that everyone else on his

Chelsea

team is in good health.

“Everyone is available apart from the guys we mentioned. The fact we could rotate a few helped us in terms of availability for today’s game and freshness.”

The last thing Potter said was what he thought about Milan's team.

“I won’t tell you about how we’re going to line up, you can wait for that. But we’re happy with the options that we have. We’re expecting a really tough game because Milan have a lot of great players and are a really tough team.”
