Man United star Christian Eriksen: 'It's a good road we're on'

Christian Eriksen has been impressed by Manchester United's progress since the Red Devils started the season in disappointing fashion.

Christian Eriksen

is sure that

Manchester United

is on a "good path," and he has praised the skills of his fellow midfielders on the Red Devils.

Last time out, United lost to

Real Sociedad

in the

Europa League

. However, since Erik ten Hag lost his first two games in charge last month, things have gone much better for United in the Premier League. Last Sunday, United beat Arsenal 3-1 at home to make it four league wins in a row. This is their best run of wins since April 2021.

Eriksen created the most chances for his team against the Gunners with three and had the most successful passes with 33. He also set up

Marcus Rashford

's second goal.

Eriksen has made more Premier League chances for United this season than Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes, who both have ten (eight). Eriksen has played 532 Premier League minutes for the Red Devils under Ten Hag. Fernandes is the only Red Devils midfielder to have played more minutes than Eriksen.

Eriksen told the club's website that the midfielders were quickly getting used to the new manager's ways. Eriksen said, "Everyone has different skills, and it's up to the manager to decide who will play which games and what skills will work. Casemiro came in and showed how strong and a winner he already is. Fred and Donny [van de Beek] have played for a long time, so it's a good midfield.

"Scott McTominay has done a great job, and I think the games show that. We tried to find each other in the first few games and figure out where we were. But now, I think we're starting to get a good connection and sense of where we should be. This is partly because the manager has told us where he wants us to be.

"I think it's gone well, but when you win games, it's easier to look back, forget your small mistakes, and focus on the good things. We can do many things better, but we're on the right track." United finished sixth in the Premier League last year, so they are playing in the Europa League this year. But Eriksen thinks they will be fine because they have a strong team and can make five substitutions.

"[The whole squad] is going to be very important," he added. "I think it's great that we have five subs this year. It will help relieve some of the pressure on the players, and I think it will also give the manager a few more choices.

"The guys who have come on have done well and want to prove themselves, just like the guys who have been starting. So it's a good and strong push, which I think we need because we have many games and good players on the team. We must all fight for our spots."

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the Premier League decided to postpone the weekend schedule. United will play again on Thursday in the Europa League when they go to Sheriff Tiraspol.
