Manchester United to sign Brighton's wonderkid Moises Caicedo

After playing a key part in Brighton's 2-1 victory over the Red Devils in their opening Premier League game, the 20-year-old Ecuador international has become a priority target for the United after being monitored for a long time by the Premier League giants.

According to

Sky Sports

, United are interested in signing Moises Caicedo who impressed in Brighton's opening-weekend win at

Manchester United

. In addition to the Red Devils, Arsenal is also reportedly interested in signing the defensive midfielder.

The outlet reports that United is yet hesitant whether to make their interest formal with an official bid as

Brighton

has no intention of selling the player. Having won 23 caps and scored two goals for his country, Caicedo is expected to play a key role for

Ecuador

at the Qatar World Cup this year.

Joining Brighton from

Independiente del Valle

on a £5m last year, the Ecuadorian has become a first-team regular for Potter after making his Premier League debut in April against

Arsenal

. The midfielder opened his Premier League goal account against the Red Devils in Brighton's 4-0 victory last year with a sweet strike from long range.

As there are only 16 days left in the window and a transfer for

Frenkie de Jong

looking to be unlikely, United have been looking at other options as they are in advanced talks to sign Juventus'

Adrien Rabiot

.
