Brentford is close to signing Sampdoria's Mikkel Damsgaard for €18m

A key part of the Denmark team that reached the semi-finals at the Euro 2020,

joined Sampdoria in 2020 on a €6.7m deal and established himself as a key part of Marco Giampaolo’s side, providing two goals and 4 assists through 49 appearances.

, Brentford are keen to sign Damsgaard this summer as they submitted a deal worth around €11m plus €7m in add-ons for the 22-year-old midfielder.
