Arsenal reach an agreement with Porto for Vieira’s services
The Gunners have reached an agreement with Porto to pen with midfielder Fabio Vieira, as per reports from 90min.
Fabio Vieira
has had an impressive season at the club level, meeting the target six times and contributing 14 assists in 27 matches. These are pretty impressive statistics before knowing that he did it in only 15 starts.
Many clubs became interested in signing Vieira but reports from 90min insisted that
Arsenalare the favorites to land him and win the race for signing him.
His release clause is €50m but the Gunners have been in talks with the club to pay an upfront fee of €35m (£30m), with a further €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons.
The 22-year-old’s medical will come in a few hours and he will be in England imminently.
He ended the Liga Portugal assist sitting second last year but he also met the back of the net seven time in eight games last season for his country.
Vieira was able to perform on wings and also have a central role for Portugal, similar to what Martin Odegaard done for Arsenal in the last campaign.
Mikel Arteta is eager to give more options to his side in attack and 90min claims that Arsenal also want to make an approach Sassuolo for striker Gianluca Scamacca.
’s Gabriel Jesus is also one of the targets for Arteta’s side, whereas Lautaro Martinez of Inter and Everton’s Richarlison have been scouted.
