Pjanic says he’s planning on seeing out his contract at Barcelona

Miralem Pjanic has said that he doesn't want to leave Barcelona this summer and will stick around until the end of his contract.

Miralem Pjanic

joined in a controversial move from

Juventus

in 2020, when

Arthur

went the other way. He didn't make much of an impact in his first year, so he spent last season on loan with Besiktas.

Besiktas

is willing to keep him there, but Pjanic told

La Repubblica

that he would rather stay in

Barcelona

. "Barcelona is important to me because it was my childhood dream," he said. "I'm very proud of my career: Metz, Lyon, Roma, and Juve.

"I lived in Italy for nine years, which were the most important of my life. I love Italian football, and I watch it a lot. But now I'm thinking about staying in Barcelona for two more years to finish my contract. Then we'll find out." Even though it's not what Pjanic wants, Barcelona is likely to try to get rid of him this summer. His high wages are a big problem for a team that wants to save money in that area.

Martin Braithwaite

, a Danish forward, said not long before Pjanic that he was not going to look for a way out of Barcelona. "I don't think about [leaving]," he told TV2. "I'm still under contract with Barça for another two years.

"You never know what will happen in football, but I'm very calm. I will work hard and see what happens next season. I want to show how happy I am and how much I want to play."
