Inter set to sign a new five-year deal with Nicolo Barella

According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan are very close to signing a five-year contract extension with Nicolo Barella which will keep him at the club until 2026.

Barella’s current contract expires at the end of June 2024, but the club are hoping to tie him to a new deal beyond this date.

Agreeing on a deal with the 24-year-old is a priority for the Nerazzurri, and he will likely be offered a significant salary increase as well as club captaincy.

Nicolo Barella

has 8 goals and 26 assists in 96 games for the Nerazzurri and started the current season in an impressive way with 5 assists and one goal in 9 games.

His performance put him in the crosshairs of several major teams such as

Liverpool

Manchester City

,

PSG

,

Real Madrid

, and

Barcelona

.

However, Inter do not want to lose more stars after the sales of

Romelu Lukaku

and

Achraf Hakimi

in the summer.
