Liverpool hopeful with Neuhaus refuses to rule out transfer

Liverpool transfer mark Florian Neuhaus did not decline a move away from Borussia Monchengladbach this late spring.

The midfielder has been dazzling with his exhibitions for Marco Rose's side this season.

The 23-year-old has been one of Gladbach's key players as his side look for a foothold in

Bundesliga

's top-four.

Neuhaus has found the net four times and provided four assists in the league, just as aiding Gladbach through the

Champions League

's round of 16.

He was rumored with a transition to Tottenham in the January transfer window, with Spurs said to see him as an expected substitution for Dele Alli.

A new report in

Kicker

guaranteed that both Liverpool and Manchester City were watching the German midfielder.

Jurgen Klopp is said to have reserved Neuhaus as a possible substitution for

Georginio Wijnaldum

The Dutchman is out of the agreement at Anfield in the mid-year, with Barcelona in shaft position to sign him as a free agent.

Furthermore, Liverpool's odds of reaching an agreement for Neuhaus have gotten a lift after the player himself conceded that he doesn't have the foggiest idea of what will occur in the late spring.

"I have a contract until 2024 and I have very big goals for this season," Neuhaus told

Kicker

. "That's what I'm concentrating on now. [Speculation] is really not a big issue for me now.

"I play at Borussia, I have a contract, and we as a club are still pursuing very big goals this season. I can't say what will happen in the summer at the moment. "

"I'm also very relaxed about the future. Borussia is a club where I was able to develop excellently and where everything is there. I know what I have with Borussia."

Neuhaus supposedly has a

£34.5m release clause

in his agreement with Die Fohlen.
