Ramos should retire at Real Madrid - Hierro

Ramos is close to leaving Real Madrid and this is a matter of concern for the former Los Blancos captain

Former

Real Madrid

captain Fernando Hierro has expressed hope that Sergio Ramos will retire at Real Madrid.

Ramos joined Real in 2005 and has won many honours with the team. He has won four Champions League titles with Real and has also won the La Liga title five times. However, there are many rumours about his separation from Madrid, and no agreement has been reached to extend his contract. Hierro who his football career is very similar to Ramos in that he was also a goal-scoring defender and he was Ramos' coach at the 2018 World Cup has expressed hope that the Spanish star would continue his presence at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He told Alaraby:

“I want him to retire at Real Madrid

. You have to take into account many things in a situation like this. First of all, the type of player he is, his level and the level that he still offers. You cannot forget that. When you offer a contract extension you have to value that.

“He came to Madrid at the age of 19 and now he is the captain, the emblem of the team. And there is another thing, his performance has not decreased even though he is 34 years old, his professionalism, his attitude. I even see him better than before, more focused than ever.

“And that is something that the club must take into account. If I had to make the decision, I would like Ramos to be able to finish his career at Madrid.”
