I wanted to sign Maradona but he is dead - Domenech

The French coach announced his interest in signing Diego Maradona.

' new manager Raymond Domenech had an interesting response to questions about the club's transfer plans in January, referring to Diego Maradona's death.

Domenech, who led the French national team to the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, has always been known for his bizarre statements and interviews. Recently selected to lead Nantes, he had a sarcastic and strange answer after being asked about Jean Lucas.

“I didn’t follow the ups and down of the deal but he’s now in Brest and that’s how it is,” he reflected to the media. “I would like to have signed Maradona, but he’s dead. That’s how it is.”

asked about Giannelli Imbula, Domenech said: “He’s got real potential. It’s interesting. He’s coming back. I haven’t made any decision but we’ll speak in a few days.”
