Sevilla sign Acuna from Sporting CP as substitute for Reguilon

Sevilla wished for the re-sign of Real Madrid's Sergio Reguilon, yet it seems like its over by purchasing Marcos Acuna.

Marcos Acuna from Sporting CP has been signed by Sevilla to be an end to their interest in Sergio Reguilon. 

Last season Reguilon started with Sevilla on loan, and the champions of the Europa League planned to sign him for the 2020-21 season from Real Madrid. 

After all, sporting director Monchi decided last week that his team will definitely miss the 23-year-old, who is additionally in Manchester United's wishlist. 

On Monday, Sevilla announced that Acuna had signed a four-year arrangement with a reported € 10 million upfront fee.

Acuna has been with Sporting for 3 years, playing in 134 matches for Sporting CP in all competitions.

After signing Ivan Rakitic, Oscar Rodríguez, Yassine Bounou and Suso, Acuna is their fifth signing of the transfer window already. 

Sevilla was the fourth team last campaign to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, and on 24 September, they will start 2020-21 season with a UEFA Super Cup battle with Bayern Munich.
