Hany Said, the sporting director of Pyramids FC, has leveled sharp criticisms at the referee of their match against Ceramica Cleopatra in the 23rd round of the Egyptian league. Pyramids achieved a tough 2-1 victory on Wednesday over Ceramica Cleopatra at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo.

In his statements through his club’s media center, Said expressed his disapproval of the poor performance of the refereeing team and the strange decisions that were all against Pyramids. He added that if it weren’t for the referee’s performance, the match result would have been more than two goals, expressing his extreme surprise at the referees’ committee decision to appoint insufficient referees for such matches.

Said emphasized that the summit of Pyramids in the league schedule and the difficulty of the confrontation were not taken into account, and he confirmed the referees’ disregard for a clear penalty in the second half that deprived Pyramids of achieving a big win. He also called on the Football Association to reconsider the appointments of referees for Pyramids matches in the league.

Said warned that if the committee seeks to try new referees, they should not do so in Pyramids matches competing for the title, indicating the importance of appointing international referees. He expressed his happiness in achieving the seventh consecutive victory and enhancing the team’s lead, despite the difficulty of the match and the short time between the previous Al-Masry match and today’s Ceramica confrontation. Finally, he pointed out that the team could have achieved a bigger win if it weren’t for the wasted opportunities.
