Alonso reacts to rumors of a possible return to Real Madrid

Xabi Alonso is the coach of Bayer Leverkusen.

Xabi Alonso

was named the new Bayer Leverkusen head coach on October 20, 2022, and will serve in that position through June 20, 2024. He replaced Gerardo Seoane.

Alonso, who had a very good performance at Bayer Leverkusen, commented on rumors about his return to Real Madrid by saying that it is too early to talk about this issue.

“It’s too early to talk about this, we’re in September, so it’s not an issue to discuss”,

he said.

“Both the players and I know how football works, it’s not a problem for anyone, and we have not talked about it.”

Alonso played 236 matches for Real Madrid and scored six goals.

Leverkusen will play against Mainz in the sixth week of the Bundesliga.
