Lesley Ugochukwu has joined Chelsea from Rennes
Chelsea have completed the signing of Rennes midfielder for £23.5m.
have completed the signing of midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu from Rennes for £23.5m.
The contract of the 19-year-old player with Chelsea will be for seven seasons.
Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, co-sporting directors of Chelsea, stated on the official website of the club after signing the contract with Lesley that they are delighted with Lesley joining the team.
“We’re delighted Lesley is joining Chelsea,”
they said.
“He is an impressive young player who has already made his mark in Ligue 1. He has a huge amount of potential and we know he is going to continue to develop and improve.
"We are pleased that he has joined us in the U.S and that he will be able to integrate with the squad quickly.”
Lesley played 26 games for Rennes in Ligue 1 last season.
Chelsea will play against Liverpool in their first Premier League match.
