Ainsworth: "We need to be more of a team"

Gareth Ainsworth has urged his players to work together as a team ahead of their Monday clash at West Brom.

Following a 2-0 loss at home to Preston,

QPR

are now in the relegation zone.

As he prepares his squad for the trip to the Hawthorns, Ainworth said: "

The boys need to be more of a team and we need a 'digging-deep' attitude in order to win games."

“The big thing for me is the mental side of these boys. There is a nervousness that I saw against Preston and I don’t want that creeping into them.

“They are good players, very good players and at one stage they were right at the top of this league. I want to get us back to beating any team.

“A win will come but right now it is about getting that win on the board.

“We came up short against Preston but we go to West Brom looking forward to it",

he told to the club website.

Ainsworth acknowledged that his side did not create enough clear-cut chances against the Preston.

I thought against Preston we did look quite threatening up to the final third but then there is no end product, no getting in behind, no shots on goal.

“We had one or two on Friday but not enough to worry their keeper. It has been a worry for quite a while and I need to make sure we look like we are going to score goals, we look like we are going to do things.

“At the moment it is tough and it is slim pickings for chances but I am looking forward to going to West Brom and seeing what we can do.”
