Arsenal are exploring the possibility of signing Jorginho

With only a day remaining from the transfer window, the Gunners might end up signing Jorginho from Chelsea.

The Gunners have been looking to sign a midfielder, both as a cover for Thomas Partey as well as competition for Granit Xhaka. While Moises Caicedo of Brighton may seem like the perfect option for Arsenal, it is looking more unlikely that they’ll get their man which is why they’ve turned to Chelsea’s

Jorginho

instead.

The 31-year-old midfielder, who was in serious contention for the Ballon d’Or last year, has only 6 months left of his contract at Chelsea, which may persuade Chelsea to let him go for a nominal fee.

However, the deal depends on Chelsea getting their priority target, Enzo Fernandez, from Benfica who they’ve been chasing ever since the World Cup. There are reports claiming that Chelsea have bid £105m for the midfielder and if they’re successful in getting him, then Jorginho will be free to move.

The

Gunners

haven’t reportedly given up on Caicedo but a move for Jorginho looks more likely at this point.
