Timo Werner warns Christopher Nkunku ahead of his move to Chelsea

Former Chelsea forward Timo Werner has warned Christopher Nkunku that playing for Chelsea is complicated.

Werner

joined Chelsea from Leipzig in 2020 but failed to meet the expectations and returned to the German club just two years later. The 26-year-old striker scored 23 goals in 89 appearances for Chelsea and has scored 9 goals in 16 matches for Leipzig this season.

at the end of the season. Werner has warned Nkunku that playing for the English club is very different from Leipzig.

“Everyone has to make their own experiences,”

the German told Sport Bild.

"I can tell him about both positive and negative experiences, I had a very good first year, the second was so-so. I can tell [Nkunku] about positive and negative experiences should he change.

“At a club like [Chelsea], you don't play like you do at RB Leipzig because there's more competition - not just on a sporting level, but also on a different level, mentally.

“You have to deal with that and everyone has to find their own way. That's why it's the wrong approach to give tips to others. Time has changed me a lot.”

Nkunku who has recorded 76 combined goals and assists in the last 18 months and has won the Bundesliga player of the season in 2022 will join Chelsea in a deal worth £63m.
