Juventus legend praises ‘world-class’ Rabiot

David Trezeguet has lauded Rabiot, calling him “important for Juventus”.

Former Juventus and France striker David Trezeguet has called his compatriot an important figure for Juventus amidst transfer speculation surrounding the player.

With 6 months remaining on

Rabiot

’s contract with Juventus, it is likely that the Turin side sells the midfielder in January to avoid losing him on a free but Trezeguet feels that Juventus should keep the player.

"[With Rabiot] we are talking about a problem for

Juventus

because in Italy, he may have been targeted for criticism, but in France, it's completely different,"

Trezeguet told Sky Sport Italia.

"He is world class, an extraordinary player. Now, he will evaluate his options and will go back to being the important player he always was.

"Juve will have to be a protagonist, that is what their history commands, and the players shouldn't worry about what is happening off the field.

"They'll have [Angel] di Maria back and fired up as a world champion with Argentina, while [Paul] Pogba and many others can give something extra."

While there are rumors circulating the fact that Zinedine Zidane may replace Didier Deschamps, Trezeguet has backed Deschamps and what he has done for Les Bleus.

"Didier has a very good rapport with the president of the federation, so he will take his time and come to a decision,"

said Trezeguet.

"If he decides to leave, then he'll see what to do in future."
