Cedric set to join Fulham in January permanently

After arriving in 2020, Cedric failed to establish himself as a key figure to Mikel Arteta as the 31-year-old is eager to move on with his career following a January move to Fulham.

After an impressive spell with Southampton,

Cédric

joined fellow Premier League outfit

Arsenal

on a six-month loan on January 31, 2020, before the club made his stay permanent in the summer.

However, falling out of Mikel Arteta's pecking order, the Portuguese has only 33 appearances since joining the club. According to

Sky Sports

, after making inquiries about the Portuguese late in the summer,

Fulham

is ready to push for a January transfer on a permanent basis as he is well known to Fulham's manager, Marco Silva.

Marco Silva

's January priorities are reported to be a right-back and a new central midfielder as Cedric's representative, Kia Joorabchian, previously worked with the club signing Willian.

Cédric made his senior debut for Portugal in 2014 after earning 72 caps at all levels of the youth game. He represented his country at the 2018 World Cup and the Euro 2016 competition, winning the latter.
