England 3-0 Senegal: Bringing it home?

While Senegal had more competition to reach the round of the 16 of the tournament, Gareth Southgate’s men were favorites to win their Qatar 2022 tie when the two sides met on Sunday.

Senegal

proceeded to the round of 16 of the tournament as Group A runners-up after gathering 6 points from their group games with Netherlands, Ecuador, and the host, Qatar. Meanwhile, Gareth Southgate's men had to face competitors from the USA, Iran, and Wales as they won Group B of the tournament with 7 points.

Besides that, reaching the Euro 2020 tournament made

England

favorite to win the game. Although England hardly threatened in the first half, Jordan Henderson scored the opener in the 38th minute as the Liverpool captain finished Jude Bellinghum's intelligent pass. Harry Kane soon doubled England's lead in the 45th minute before the two sides went into the dressing room with a 2-0 result.

Saka's 57th-minute goal concealed the result as England proceeded to the quarter-finals of the tournament with Phil Foden providing assists for England's last two goals before being substituted in the 65th minute as England held to their 3-0 victory.
