Messi out injured for PSG but Argentina fans need not worry

It seems that Leo Messi won’t be able to compete in PSG’s upcoming fixture but he is not a doubt for World Cup

PSG will be facing Lorient this weekend but it seems that their 7 times Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi won’t be with them as he is suffering from an inflammation in his Achilles tendon.

Leo Messi

who had somewhat of a quiet year last season, seems to be in top form once again as he is currently the most dangerous European player, boasting of 26 direct goal contributions (12 goals and 14 assists) so far.

The Argentine is expected to play a big role in the upcoming 2022 Qatar World Cup where Argentina will face Saudi Arabia two weeks from now as their opening game. PSG and the Argentina fans panicked a bit after the medical staff at

PSG

gave an update on Messi’s fitness but Galtier was quick to clear the situation up.

"Messi has inflammation in his tendon,"

Galtier said at his pre-match Press Conference.

"I think he will be available for our next game, just like Presnel Kimpembe, who is still in rehabilitation.

"He should be back for the

Auxerre

game."

While injuries in recent weeks has kept some big names from playing in the World Cup, namely Son, James and Pogba, there have been many that have questioned the clubs’ busy schedule leading to the World Cup. The question of whether players will be giving their 100% or not has also been raised to which Galtier replied:

"We have played a lot, it is a very intense season, and that is the case for everyone, and we must not hide from that, of course, it generates fatigue.

"Usually, our last Champions League group game is in mid-December. Having so many weeks with Champions League games has taken up a lot of energy.

"There are no excuses, that's how it is. Of course, we are a bit tired, we are worn out.

"Of course, every player that may be involved at the World Cup has that fear in their heads, even more so when the Champions League group stage has finished, with all those fixtures.

"You might have that in your head as a player. I often speak to the players and listen to them. We have to listen to them and they can tell us anything.

"If someone is apprehensive, I tell them to have faith in what we put forward here in training. If a player comes to me and says they don't want to play, he won't play."
