after nine years and joined Manchester United in a deal worth up to £60m. The Brazilian midfielder has played in 14 matches for Eric Ten Hag's side so far and scored one goal.

Casemiro won more than 15 major trophies with Real Madrid including three La Liga titles and five Champions League.

Kroos

who played alongside Casemiro for eight years says many players join English teams for money.

"Television money has been significantly higher in England for years and yet it hasn't resulted in English teams winning everything. Thank God not all players look only at salary but also at winning,"

the German was quoted as saying by Marca.

The German player also says at first he did not believe the news about Casemiro’s departure and is sad that they can't play together again.

"I was surprised by Casemiro's departure,"

he told Universo Valdano.

"It is true that the rumours started two days before, but here there are always many rumours and many times nothing happens. But when he told me I was sad, because I began to remember all the years with him and the things we win together."

Real Madrid is having a great season so far, despite Casemiro's departure, as they are at the top of La Liga. Carlo Ancelotti's side also has qualified for the Champions League round of 16.
