Gakpo frustrated after failing to score against Arsenal
While the Dutch star was expected to perform well against the Gunners, he failed to score.
Cody Gakpo expressed his frustriation with not performing well against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last night.
Last night, the Gunners hosted PSV in the Europa League and managed to defeat the opponent with a score of 1-0. Gakpo has performed very well this season and managed to score 13 goals and 11 assists, but last night, he failed against the Premier League opponent. After the game, the Dutch star expressed his disappointment that he could not make an impact against Arsenal.
He said:
"Yeah, it was a great atmosphere and a good team. We tried our best, but we failed to get a result. It was a little bit frustrating instead of a real joy to play here,"
Gakpo was under the radar of several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United in summer transfers but the Red Devils finally signed Antony from Ajax. He scored 21 goals for PSV in all competitions last season and recently revealed his talks with Erik ten Hag to join Manchester United. He will face Arsenal again last week and will have high motivation to prove himself.
