Fati hopes for World Cup involvement amid his strong Barcelona form

After providing three assists and scoring two goals since his return from injury, the 19-year-old winger is hoping to return to Luis Enrique's squad ahead of Qatar World Cup.

After suffering a catastrophic knee injury that necessitated surgery in 2020 that cost the Spaniard most of the last season,

Ansu Fati

has been in incredible form since returning from injury as he helped his side to achieve a 1-0 victory over Real Mallorca on Saturday, providing Robert Lewandowski the assist for Barcelona’s winner.

Helping

Barcelona

to extend their unbeaten away record to 18 games, Fati hailed his side after their "important victory". He told

Mundo Deportivo

:

“It’s a very important victory, we know that after the [international] break it can be a bit of a struggle and winning was necessary.

“Drawing at home to Rayo in the first game made us motivated to win and give joy to the fans.”

With Qatar World Cup set to kick off in November, the

Spaniard

expressed his passion for being involved in Luis Enrique’s squad for the World Cup.

“I thank the manager and all the people that try to help me and I will do everything in my hands to help the team and the national team when required,”

Fati said

.

Fati joined

La Masia

in 2012 and advanced through Barcelona's youth system until making his first-team debut in 2019 at the age of 16. Since then, he has broken record after record, and now that he is wearing the '10' shirt, he is one of the squad's players with a bright future.
