Moshiri to sell Everton for £400m to American investor, Kaminski
The American businessman, Maciek Kaminski, is reportedly negotiating with Everton owner Moshiri to buy his 94 percent share of the club for £400m.
According to
Financial Times, Farhad Moshiri, who is the major stake owner of
Evertonsince February 2016, is in advanced talks to sell the Premier League club to a US-based investor,
Maciek Kaminski
, for a reported £400m. The outlet reports two parties are close to reaching an agreement over the potential deal.
The Premier League has to approve the deal withstanding. Everton will become the 10th Premier League club with American owners if the potential deal happens. Kaminski immigrated to the
United States
from Poland during the 1960s. After investing his money in real estate in Minneapolis, the largest city in Minnesota, the American will take his investment to the next level by purchasing Everton.
Everton's reckless spending during the Moshiri era, which started in 2016 and saw six permanent managers fired before
Frank Lampard
took over, put them on the edge of breaking the Premier League's rules about making money and staying in business.
Everton finished 16th in the Premier League last season, their worst finish since the 2003-2004 campaign when they were 17th.
Rafael Benitez
was fired halfway through the season, and Frank Lampard took over as manager. With a 3-2 comeback win over Crystal Palace at Goodison Park, Lampard was able to keep Everton in the league with a game to spare.
